Professor Chloe Sun of the Logos Theological Seminary shared with the members of 1.5 Generation Congregation at EFCI on the topic of Hagar Through God’s Eyes. She illustrated how through God’s view of Hagar differs than ours, where He blessed her even given her position. Her sermon taught us the perspective of how God views those who are different than us.
Pastor Ben shared with the 1.5 Generation congregation at EFCI on the importance of sharing the good news and why we must share it with those who have not heard. From the passage of Romans, Pastor Ben emphasized that Jesus Christ is God and Jesus died for your sin and resurrected. Because of this belief, we are able to have hope even when facing uncertainties.
Pastor KC Liu shared with the 1.5 Generation congregation at EFCI on the topic of how Christians should exist with the government through the direct instruction from the bible. KC delivered the insights that Paul cares about how Christians behave as citizens. Paul wants Christians to be good citizens of the state, to be a good witness and have good testimonies. He saw many Christians not being good citizens, like not paying taxes, or rebelling against authority, and that concerns him deeply.
Kitty preached to the 1.5 EFCI 1.5 Generation Congregation through the passage from Joshua chapter 3 to describe the how we can follow in God’s promise since He is the one who knows the future, not us. The ultimate challenge for us is whether we are willing to follow God or our own ways.
Pastor Andy Fang shared with the 1.5 Generation congregation at EFCI on the topic of "Cavities of Life” from the life story of Jacob. He shared the transformative journey that Jacob experienced where he no longer relies on his own fight and strive to obtain what he wanted to relying on God’s provision in his life. Andy declared that we often get tired because we are relying on ourselves to go through life, but instead, we should do life God’s way.
"When we face hardship”. The passage contrasts the action taken by lot and Abraham. Through the comparison, Pastor Ben shows us the importance of relying on God, not ourselves when we face hardships.
Would you follow God despite your circumstances? Sister Kitty shared with EFCI 1.5 Generation congregation on the topic of obeying God’s command because we know who He is even if we’re in unfavorable circumstances.
People often relate mission to a mission trip, where individuals will go to different places and provide services to meet the needs of the locals while having an opportunity to share the gospel. Pastor Ben clarified that mission isa lifestyle and it is what we need to do on a daily basis.
Pastor KC shared with 1.5 Generation congregation on the topic of hospitality. He emphasized importance of hospitality in the history of the church and the impact it will bring to our ministry.
Jesus died for our sin and we are saved by the gospel. After such revelation, our lives should be transformed by the living power of Jesus Christ – to live a new life , a victorious life, instead of struggling in continuous sin and bondage.
Pastor Ben shared in his sermon to the 1.5 Generation congregation at EFCI Christian Church on the topic of How Religion Bounds Us? He raised the distinction between following a religion versus having a relationship with our creator. “True religion is about our inner hearts”, he declared.
